still pregnant

Leaving for the OB's in a few minutes for my weekly checkup. The next time I see my OB I'll either be well into labor or past my due date. I'm hoping for the former. As some of my friends and I have been commenting on lately - how many times in your life do you look forward to being in pain?

Best of luck! The whole giving birth thing hasn't sunk in for me yet, apparently. My advisor was listing things we're hoping to get done this summer, and he was like "and then we'll be working on this paper, and then you'll give birth". And I really couldn't figure out what he meant by give birth for 2 or 3 seconds! I was thinking, what, give birth to new data?? So I guess he is thinking more about the whole birthing thing than me so far. I think it's his way of saying he supports me (he's not one to just say something clearly unless it's about science).
But I'm sure you've had plenty of time to get used to the idea of giving birth by now and you're going to do a great job!

Sounds so exciting!

I have to say, though, you (and my lab, no doub) inspired me to a rather dreadful nightmare about the pain of birth. Ugh.

Did you hear? Mini's here! I don't know how much detail SW wants on this site, but the baby - a girl - and her mama are doing great, from what I hear. Mini made her debut on Friday afternoon. Hooray for the whole fam!
