Try to enjoy what you can of the defense. I was reminded by an older student that this is one time where you have a rapt audience who wants to know about your work. This a wonderful opportunity to express how much you enjoy your research/findings and a chance to more fully explain your work than some other opportunities may provide.

I read your blog all the time, and wish you all the luck one can have during a defense. You'll do just FINE- after my defense I couldn't believe that that was "it". All that preparation, all that anxiety, and the worst thing I got was "I'm curious why you didn't also look at X population". Since I'm certain you'll pass, allow me to be the first on your blog to say CONGRATS, DOCTOR! :)
